INDEPENDENT HIPHOP ARTIST/PRODUCER.

              BIRD HOUSE UK CHAPTER ...

KELECHI CHINWAH.

 Poet/Independent hiphop artist/producer/song writer/Voice actor/spoken word artist from  London, U.K of Nigerian origin, with a unique flow. I call it conscious conversational rap (CCR). Incredible song writer or as I like to put it Godly penmanship. Album; CONSCIOUS CONVERSATIONAL RAP; currently in the works for release January 2022.. My influences are from the ninety's  to mention a few; Pac, Biggie, Hove, Nas, Wu tang, Snoop, Cube, l.l cool J, Rakim, etc. Inspiring words to live by; If you don't understand Racism/White supremacy, what it is and how it works , everything else you think you understand will only confuse you." --Neely Fuller, Jr.

Phoenix Phamily U.K. founder and mentor to a couple up N coming fantastic artists ; Lady b, King kudz, etc. First member of the bird house U.K. chapter & more. Like all art forms great music is timeless across all genres.

 I've always and wholeheartedly believed in the healing, uplifting and  restorative  powers of music. So as a teenager I hatched a plan and a promise to work hard to get to a place of financial stability and independence by my mid to late twenties  that would allow me to create and give my music away for free. Why?; because I  believe music should be a human right like healthcare and thus,  should be available and accessible to all people  regardless of all colour, creed, race or status free of charge.

However, as the saying goes; life is  what happens while you're busy making plans. Unfortunately in 2002 at the age of 23/24  I had a brain injury. which  left me paralysed and bedridden in hospital for six months and another four in rehabilitation where I  had to relearn to walk again and all that good stuff.  This took a lot of hard work and awesome physiotherapists and other medical professionals. I went from a wheel chair to a walking frame and then to walking with a walking stick to walking without aid again. Upon returning home I had to continue my physiotherapy in the community.

In 2005 I was admitted at the chelsea and westminster hospital in London with a chest infection. This lead to pneumonia and then  obstructive sleep apnoea which in turn lead to a pulmonary cardiac arrest that basically killed me. I was dead for a few minutes. and I mean my heart stopped beating, not breathing, the whole nine. But even death would not  phase these awesome heroes they got the defibrillator &  literally shocked me back to life, Like MF you ain't going no where yet. That's how I like to imagine what the doctor said to his staff and to my lifeless body in front of him, in my head. I'm an artist I can't help it  At this point I had to be put into a medically induced comma. Where I remained for three months. So from the twenty first of December 2005 to early march 2006 I was in a comma.

 You'll find on the second verse of my song IT IZ WUT IT IZ;

I SAY;

In a comma for 3 months, I saw beyond the veil

enshrined with secrets past this place

like a magnifying glass I see in great detail

in your face one moment, the next gone without a trace

Now tell me

How many MFs you know, died & lived to tell the story

oooh shit now you getting it

FUCK it; it iz wut it iz ...

I felt privileged to be in the presence of and to witness  firsthand the amazing gracefulness of the awesome Nhs medical professionals from the doctors & nurses to the janitors and everyone in between they worked seamlessly  like a well oiled machine to keep me alive.

They were indeed successful at this daunting task battling against all odds to preserve human lives. I made incredible friends for life, well to be honest they might think we are friends but to me they are really my heroes. I've been asked a few times if I could go back in time and get a do over of my life what I would change and people are always shocked not only at my answer but how easily and confidently I respond with the same answer every time. I wouldn't change a single thing.

The way I  see it I was privileged to get a front row seat to the inner workings of the marvel that is modern medicine via the British national health service. I had never been prouder to be a brit in my life than I was at this point, and no this does't mean i'm not proud of being Nigerian and my West African heritage, I AM. So now you see why I will go through the hell I went through were I  literally died. But also learnt a lot and got to meet a lot of amazing people that our paths may never have crossed otherwise, So yeah if I could go back in time I wouldn't change any part or aspect of my life, period.
